STEP Beyond Borders runs a charity organisation called Glimpse International which is fully funded with the generous support of SBB team. Glimpse International works on 6 main areas of the social change.

Deep Public School

Deep Public School is a charity school run with minimum fees for rural children shifted to Jaipur. The school provides education to 3-15 years old children with Rajasthan Board of Education till 8th standard. The beneficiaries of the school are children from rural areas of Rajasthan whose parents shifted to Jaipur with the hope to find a job in manufacturing units of the city. Their children are the most vulnerable to child labor as the local government schools can’t accept the children to their institution due to huge number of students (rural children need to go to school in their village where they are registered) and children get exposed to exploitation due to the lack of financial resources of the families. Glimpse International runs this school with the aim to keep children closer to education and ensure the well-being of every child. 

Green Project

Jaipur is a city that lucks public cleanliness campaigns as well as environment projects. Glimpse International has various activities within their Green Project which mobilizes local communities to preserve the environment. First of all environmental education is conducted in various local schools of Jaipur through Glimpse International Indian volunteers. Waste Management and Recycling sessions are lead for youth groups with the aim to reduce the pollution level of the city. We make eco-bags from newspapers and clothes and distribute to local vendors so that plastic bags won’t be used. Last but not least, we lead various tree plantation projects during rainy season to ensure that our mother nature gets more Oxigen and prevails in parks and gardens. With our Green Project we aim to provide a better environment for our beneficiaries. 

After-school Education

Education is crucial for every child’s future, however it is proven that children learn better in non-formal environment when they develop their talent in various extracurricular activities. Glimpse International runs after-school education clubs for groups of 15-20 students in the following fields: 

  • Dance
  • Theater and music
  • Public Speaking and Debate
  • Social & Financial Education
  • Health education
  • English
  • Arts
  • Computer Education
We work with local volunteers and experts who provide quality sessions for local beneficiaries of slums, underdeveloped areas of Jaipur totally free of cost. For us, every single talent which is developed in the child, every single vocation that child finds for their personal development is a true REWARD!

Health & Hygiene

With the environmental, nutritional and social challenges for India, every person has a prime concern that is health. In India access to public health institutions is limited to only below poverty rate citizens and the number of latter is big that many patients have to be in long waiting lists. Glimpse International takes its step forward to alleviate this situation by prevention of health issues through health education and hygiene as well as health check up camps. The activities undertaken are:

  • Health campaigns such as anti-smoking, anti-alcohol, etc.
  • Hand-wash and physical hygiene
  • Oran hygiene activities
  • Menstrual hygiene seminars
  • Nutrition education
  • Physical education and yoga
Alongside to various sessions, Glimpse International organizes health check-up camps in slums, government schools and  in rural areas with the aim to provide community education and basic medical support like vitamins, hygiene items, etc.

Adolescent Girl Education

Girls are the vulnerable part of the society due to the gender inequality in the traditional society. The dowry system in India makes a lot of families be unhappy about the birth of a baby girl because in future the family struggles a lot financially to arrange the marriage of their daughter. Due to this, some families don’t invest in the education of their girl child and pay more attention to the male kids. Glimpse International through its Adolescent Girl Empowerment project targets vulnerable communities of Jaipur and hold sessions, seminars and activities for girls to provide them education, boost their confidence and build the future female leader who can bring a change in their own community. Our local volunteers and experts give insights to the girls into various educational opportunities, provide career counselling and orientation as well as support with any recommendation and funding opportunity.

Women Skill Development

With women being the cornerstone of the Indian society, the main carrier and preserver of the culture, it’s very important to enable them to be self-sustainable and have means of income. Women empowerment in India has totally different level compared to the western world. It’s not easy to talk about equality and equal opportunities when it comes to women with no education, who are fully dependent on their fathers, husbands or brothers. Glimpse International enables women earn basic income through their own creativity even though they are not literate. We run skill development projects of:

  • Tailoring/stitching
  • Jewelry making
  • Sanitary pad-making
  • Natural hygiene items production (soap, hand-wash)
  • Beautician’s work
After the completion of the courses, women usually establish their own small production unit which generates income for them and ensures economic stability for their family and boosts their self-dependency.

Glimpse International also serves as a social work institution for legal counseling of the women, helping women to get personal and business related documentation, getting ID cards, etc.
